Meet Imam Dawood Yasin
Prior to him joining @icgatx, Imam Dawood Yasin served as Director of Student Life and Center for Ethical Living and Learning at #Zaytuna College.
Before embracing Islam, Imam Dawood Yasin, then known as David Howard, had a successful career as a fashion model in the 1990s, working in major fashion hubs like New York, Paris, and South Africa. His work included appearances on Paris billboards and in Vogue fashion spreads.
Imam Yasin (known on Instagram as @dawood_yasin) served as Muslim Life and Service-Learning Coordinator at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH, as Director of Outreach Affairs at Zayed Center for Islamic Culture in the United Arab Emirates, and as an Arabic language teaching assistant at Yale University. He studied Islamic Studies at Abu Nour Institute in Damascus, Syria. He now also serves as a board member of the Lamppost Education Initiative.
Imam Dawood’s integration of outdoor activities and martial arts, particularly Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, into his life underscores his holistic approach to personal development, blending physical pursuits with spiritual and ethical growth.
